Welcome to the Resource Centre for Ubiquitous Learning & Integrated Pedagogy: (ULIP).

We are focused on addressing the most pressing pedagogical problems by specifically creating and building educational mobile applications in various disciplines.

About

ULIP aims to help instructors explore possibilities using custom-made applications and new integrated pedagogies to better reach their students. We do this by:

Providing support for instructors’ most difficult pedagogical problems;

Lowering the students’ resistance to engaging these problems through fun, structured mobile applications;

Enabling the use of technology to disseminate information and construct knowledge in media rich, content-specific formats, running on devices students enjoy using and habitually carry with them at all times.

Guiding Principles

MOBILE APPS THAT SUPPORT LEARNING

We believe teaching & learning are about effective student engagement, collaboration and communication.

EVALUATING NEW MOBILE APPS

We design, implement, and evaluate new mobile applications, and believe these can improve teaching and learning environments.

SUPPORTING OPENESS AND COLLABORATION

We support academic openess – both in sharing what we make, and by working together with faculty in sharing their knowledge and teaching practices.

CONTRIBUTING TO THE SCHOLARSHIP OF TEACHING AND LEARNING (SoTL)

We believe in contributing to the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) by helping instructors explore and evaluate innovative ways to use mobile applications and new pedagogies to engage their students.
